HABC Level 2 Award in Legionella (Water Systems) course

The Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot and Cold Water Systems) ensures participants understand the health risks associated with legionella bacteria, the conditions for its growth and the methods of transmission. The course covers relevant legislation and codes of practice, the consequences of non-compliance and key roles and responsibilities in managing legionella risk. Candidates will gain an understanding of the operation of hot and cold water systems, the factors that contribute to legionella risk and the necessary control measures, including routine monitoring, system checks and legionella testing. This qualification is essential for those working in environments where legionella growth is a risk, aiming to prevent waterborne diseases caused by legionella bacteria. The course can be delivered to a maximum of 12 candidates, remotely or in a classroom and candidates are assessed to ensure their understanding.
