eLearning – Asbestos Awareness

The eLearning course on Asbestos Awareness is designed to equip individuals with fundamental knowledge about asbestos. The course covers understanding the properties of asbestos and the rationale behind its widespread historical use. It also identifies various previous applications of asbestos in construction and other industries. Participants will recognise the health effects associated with asbestos exposure, including serious conditions such as asbestosis and mesothelioma, and identify the groups at risk of asbestos-related diseases and the measures in place to control these risks. Additionally, the course outlines emergency procedures for dealing with unplanned releases of asbestos materials. By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of asbestos-related risks and the necessary precautions to manage these risks safely. Note that this awareness course does not qualify individuals to work directly with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials, for which further specialised training is required. Learners are assessed at the end of the course and must achieve a minimum pass mark. Individual licences must be used within a 12 month period.
