eLearning – Legionella Awareness

The eLearning course on Legionella Awareness is designed for team members and managers in the hospitality industry. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge to prevent Legionnaires’ disease by understanding how outbreaks occur, identifying risks and implementing control measures. The course begins by explaining what Legionella bacteria are, how they spread, and who is most at risk. The course identifies primary areas of risk within hospitality environments, explaining where Legionella can multiply if left untreated and additional control measures. It then focuses on assessing risks, including legal duties, management responsibilities, essential record-keeping practices as well as prevention and control strategies. Participants will also learn about different types of water systems and how to mitigate the risk of Legionella. By the end of the course, participants will be well-equipped to ensure a safe environment, preventing Legionella outbreaks effectively. Learners are assessed at the end of the course and must achieve a minimum pass mark. Individual licences must be used within a 12 month period.
