The eLearning course on Drink Spiking Awareness is designed to educate hospitality staff on the critical issue of drink spiking. Reports of spiking in late night venues have unfortunately been on the rise, making it imperative for staff to be well-informed and prepared. Drink spiking involves the surreptitious addition of alcohol or drugs to a person’s drink with the intent to cause harm, such as injury or sexual assault. Participants will learn to recognise the symptoms of drink spiking, enhancing their awareness and ability to take swift, appropriate action. The course covers identifying key indicators that someone has been spiked and the necessary steps to assist and safeguard the individual. Additionally, it includes best practices for reducing the risk of spiking through heightened vigilance and proactive measures. By the end of the course, team members will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively handle suspected drink spiking incidents, ensuring a safer environment for patrons and staff alike. Learners are assessed at the end of the course and must achieve a minimum pass mark. Individual licences must be used within a 12 month period.
