The UK’s original sushi brand, YO! Sushi has grown at a phenomenal rate since first opening their doors in 1997. Today the total number of restaurants stands at 70 and counting.

Shield Safety Group delivered a comprehensive compliance package to YO! Sushi. This consisted of Compliance Diaries, Policy Development, Training Courses, Compliance Software, access to our Safety Advice Line service as well as Strategic compliance planning and support.

The Challenge

Each of YO! Sushi’s restaurants required biannual audits, but with numerous sites each following different procedures and a system limited in information and reporting, YO! Sushi lacked clear visibility and consistency when it came to compliance. The system also lacked a Training App and Safety Advice Line App, both of which we really needed. Having used their old system for five years, YO! Sushi needed a solution that would push them to the next level and offered more in terms of report management and
greater functionality.

In helping YO! Sushi save time and improve consistency in their reporting, Shield Safety Group worked to improve YO! Sushi’s management systems, moving them over to our platform – a transition which was completed within two months. All daily procedures were also integrated into a new Diary system for each site to use during their daily checks and routines. In addition, YO! The Impact

Using our software, YO! Sushi now have a complete overview of the entire company. In the event of an EHP visit all the due diligence information they need is at their fingertips and from the Training App they are able to share EHO training records for both individual staff members and the restaurant. “As there is only myself in the company doing this job, it is essential I know what is going on. The software does that, whether its audits, accident recording or overdue Health and Safety requirements, I get an e-mail update.”
